Coalface is one of our facial cleansing bars which lathers a little bit and gives your skin
a tighter feeling when you wash with it. It bears a passing resemblance to a bar of black soap,
but it's mostly made of soothing, detoxifying liquorice root decoction with fragrant rosewood
and sandalwood oils to soften and calm the skin. (Body soap is too strong to use on your face.
Charcoal, incidentally, absorbs excess oil from the skin's surface and serves as an exfoliator.
Mo madea limited edition of this one for a film company when they relaunched the Woody Allen
film, Annie Hall, because Annie used to wash her face with black soap for her complexion;
we liked it so much we decided to let everyone use it. |

sensitive skin and can be used all over the body for people who have skin problems. If you've got

chamomile in Fresh Farmacy will give your skin a welcome break from its troubles. Lavender and
tea tree oils will also help to neutralize the bad microbes that can cause spots and flaky
patches. As for elderflower, this is one of the wonder herbs that grows wild all over and is
sinfully underused by the population at large. One of its properties is that it is very soothing
for the skin; traditionally you have to ask the Elder Mother's permission to harvest it and the
Danes say that if you stand by an elder tree on midsummer night's eve you'll see the King of the

When you see this you may question our claim that our new skincare products are the most

after the powdered herbs which give it a dark green colour and which also give it the power
to keep your skin calm and free of irritation. We use cleansing nettle, which is full of
vitamins, marigold for its soothing properties, chamomile to calm your skin and astringent
rosemary to tone the skin. China clay gently cleanses away excess oil and a gentle
exfoliating mix of ground almonds and rice bran keeps your skin fresh. We make this wash
for more oily skin which is difficult to keep clear; use it and you'll find that it makes
