The name and the inspiration for this beautifully uplifting shower gel comes from a Leonard Cohen song,
Dance Me to the End of Love, which Mark heard on Madeleine Peyroux's album, Careless Love.
"Lift me like and olive branch 'til I'm safely gathered in," it says. That's the feeling we want you to have when
you smell its fragrance of Sicilian mandarin juice. The olive brand has been a symbol of peace for millennia;
our gel has 3% organic olive oil from two sources: an olive grove formerly owned by the Sicilian Mafia and now
run as a co-operative by former homeless drug addicts and a Palestinian-Israeli joint venture, run by women on
land in occupied territories which was being wasted as a result of the conflict. Lush can now 'shop' on a large scale
and if we can do something useful while we're at it then this is a good thing. Buy some. |

Sea Salt Shower Scrub Rub Rub Rub is a bit of a variation on the normal shower gel.We like to use sea salt as a scrub because it's extra cleansing and mineral rich, and after scrubbing it dissolves in water leaving your plughole mercifully free of bits and pieces. This new blue scrub is startlingly refreshing, with a dash of lemon juice and the tropical scent of mimosa blossom. Smooth it all over your body; you can even use it as a shampoo.(We do.) |

Strawberry and Almond Cream Shower Wash.Researching for a recent television programme, Lush found out that the cost of a standard shower gel is 20% ingredients and 80% packaging. With Lush, it's the other way around; plain packaging containing beautiful ingredients. There are many chocolate shower gels in the world and most of them, frankly, are horrid.
They are gimmicky, cheap, synthetic things which smell like market stall chocolate Christmas decorations
- horrid, as we were saying. For a while we resisted, not wanting to be tarnished by such a tawdry image,
then we thought to ourselves, "We can do better than that, much better!" so we did. Oh what gloriously sensual
stuff Sonic Death Monkey turned out to be. It has seaweed gel make your hair and body feel soft; it's scented
with chocolate orange and tones you up with fresh lime, Caribbean coffee and herbal tea.
(It's named after Barry's band in High Fidelity.)
